Gap Inc.’s New Concept Offers Four Distinct Brands Inside One Unique Shopping Destination for Women

Gap Inc., today announced the debut of Forth & Towne, the company’s new women’s apparel retail concept. Forth & Towne opens tomorrow, August 24, in the Palisades Center Mall in West Nyack, New York, and will open four stores in the Chicago area on August 31.

“We have a deep understanding of who our customer is, and we believe Forth & Towne will provide her with an experience she’s never seen before,” said Gary Muto, President, Forth & Towne. “Forth & Towne will provide everything in one intimate space: from great style and dependable fit, to a beautiful setting and exceptional service.”

Forth & Towne offers customers smart, fashionable clothing designed under four unique brands tailored to a range of lifestyles. The brands, Allegory, Vocabulary, Prize and Gap Edition, will offer distinct styles for casual, business or dress-up needs within one intimate space.

Allegory features suiting with a distinctly feminine touch and classic pieces with modern elegance: tailored pants, beautifully cut blazers and clean shirting. ;

For the individualist, Vocabulary offers comfort and graceful femininity with rich knits and pants accented with prints and jewelry.

Prize celebrates fun, wearable trends with flattering silhouettes, flirty fabrics and stylish cuts.

And women who grew up with the Gap will love the return of the everyday Gap essentials offered through Gap Edition. ; All four brands will be easy to find in distinct environments within the store. ;

“Our customer is a woman who knows who she is and her clothes reflect her sense of self,” said Austyn Zung, Senior Vice President of Design. “The Forth & Towne customer does not dress by formula. She is confident mixing color, texture and pattern.”

Paramount in the design and production of each of the four brand collections is the dependable Forth & Towne fit. So when a customer discovers a great fitting pant, she’ll find the same fit in other styles throughout the store. More importantly, she’ll find equal comfort in consistency — when she returns the next season to find the same flattering fit in her size in new fabrication and colors.

Inside, the centerpiece of each Forth & Towne store will be the fitting salon, featuring a circular design and colorful window boxes, conveniently located right in the middle of the store. ;The spacious rooms will feature three-way mirrors, personally adjustable lighting, refreshments and a variety of fashion accessories within reach to help style an outfit. ;In addition, Forth & Towne Style Consultants will be available to put together looks for every wardrobe need.

Forth & Towne in West Nyack, NY, will open tomorrow at Palisades Center Mall, located 20 minutes northwest of the George Washington Bridge. In Chicago, Forth & Towne will open August 31 in Algonquin Commons, Algonquin, IL; Fox Valley Mall, Aurora, IL; Westfield Old Orchard, Skokie, IL; and Woodfield Mall, Schaumburg, IL.
