Just equal treatment mass lobby to demonstrate the need for legislation on age discrimination in the UK

Help the Aged (U.K.), active
Members of AGE, are holding a mass lobby to press for the equal treatment of
older people. This will take place in Westminster, London, on 18 April 2007.
It will be an opportunity to campaign for an end to age discrimination and to
seek to ensure that the rights of older people are protected in UK law. All
are welcome to participate.

This event falls within
the window of opportunity for members of the public to lobby the UK government
on their new proposals on discrimination before the final set of laws are drawn
up for the Single Equalities Bill.

The mass lobby will begin
at 11.30 a.m. with training on how to lobby effectively followed by speeches
and information about the Just Equal treatment campaign. The lobby itself will
begin at 2 p.m. when MPs will come across Parliament Square to meet with their
constituents.
